Is a verb due to a certain case, that function like a noun
Used when :

1) Verb as a subject
  example
       Swiming is a good sport
       Jogging make us fresh

2) Verb as an object/complement
  example
       She like dancing
       My hobby is cycling

3) Verb as a prepositional object (comes after prepositional)
  example
       I am sorry for coming late before sleeping, she brushes her teeth

4) Verb comes after possesive adjectives
  example
       Her teaching is facanating the informarmation is beneficial for the student's learning
